Parkview Solicitors Immigration & Personal Injury Higher Court Advocates in Bolton: Review
As members of the Solicitors Association of Higher Court Advocates, Parkview Solicitors focus their aim on providing legal services to both individuals and businesses, whilst maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards.
They represent clients from inside and outside the UK across all Civil Courts in England and Wales. As part of that, they are members of The Law Society's Immigration and Asylum Law Accreditation Scheme - an independent mark of high standards and competency in immigration and asylum work. Members of the scheme must show that they maintain a high level of knowledge, skills, experience and practice in all areas of immigration and asylum law.
Whilst Parkview keep the regular office hours you would expect of a law firm in the UK (i.e. Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm) they are one of the few that state anything to do with a 24/7 enquiry option. Whilst this option is only email communication - the fact they mention it at all boldly on their website puts them in front of others when it comes to statements of general availability.
Parkview serve clients across England & Wales for Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Professional Negligence, Family Law, Criminal Injuries, Human Rights, Residential Law (e.g. Landlord & Tenant disputes), Immigration and so on. A full list can be seen on their website, but often people don't know the actual case title for their particular issue - so don't be afraid to phone and ask. For example, you may have found this page using a search term like 'car crash' whilst the official title of such a case is 'road traffic accident' - often just abbreviated to RTA.
Their general case range is one of litigation. These are mostly civil matters ranging from injury claims to breaches of contract. On their site, they also state some pride in their specialist advocacy services, noting their particular expertise in complex tribunal appeals.
Their practice is headed by Mubasher Khan: a specialist in civil litigation since 2004, a dual qualified Barrister, plus a solicitor of the Senior Courts in England & Wales. As an experienced immigration practitioner he appears frequently at both first-tier and upper-tier Immigration Tribunals. He is a member of the Bar Council, Lincoln's Inn, The Law Society, the Solicitors' Association of Higher Court Advocates (SAHCA), and the Immigration Law Practitioners' Association (ILPA). Mubasher is also accredited by The Law Society as a Senior Immigration and Asylum caseworker.
On 1to1Legal, we have firms that generally take on smaller businesses and individuals. We also have firms that deal with larger clients and international corporations. Parkview, however, talk as though they are comfortable with both. It is often quite daunting talking to a solicitor, especially if you feel your case is something small or undeserving of any real court time. It is always helpful to talk to a firm that does not feel 'above' any particular case or client 'value'. On their site they say that "every client is just as important as the next, inspective of the size and nature of their case, and each can expect from us the highest standards of personal care and service". You could always put that to the test?
Curiously, as I mentioned before about email communication - this firm gave us another first. In relation to general communication options throughout a case, they say that they are happy to use whatever means the client prefers. Including, and I quote, "text, phone, email, whatsApp etc." They offer Skype and Facetime too, but we've seen that before.
A few extra common questions people tend to ask about a firm include - yes, they do free initial consultations. Yes, they do no win no fee (aka conditional fee) arrangements where appropriate. No, they don't do legal aid at all.
General Notes: Usually if Legal Aid is possible we've mentioned it above, but you can always ask. We haven't looked in depth at their recruitment program so are unaware of any job vacancies available. For a career with Parkview Solicitors it's best to visit the website (www.parkviewsolicitors.co.uk), check opening hours, and find the correct phone/email contact details. Simply emailing a CV to reception looks lazy. Each law firm's Law Society and/or SRA number should be on their site, usually at the bottom of each page.
