Lambertpugh LLP Nationwide Conveyancing Solicitors from Norwich: Review
Whilst we can't review Lambertpugh on their actual service (as we don't buy or sell a property every time we review a conveyancing firm!) we are very impressed with their website. If it's your first time reading a 1to1Legal law firm review - that is not something we've ever said before. In fact, most times we are flummoxed by the excessive content of sites, the poor accessibility, and the rather bland/templated style of testimonials.
However, the Lambertpugh site is quite different. A large portion of the content is devoted to help articles. Basic explanations of each of the services. Including:
- a "Step-by-Step Guide" from start to finish about what is involved in a conveyancing sale or purchase
- a "Conveyancing Expenses" piece about all the costs to expect throughout such as moving
- an article on "Joint Tenancy" discussing the differences when more than one person is buying a property
- a "Help to Buy" information piece about the several schemes the Government offer to help people move home whether a first time buyer or not
- "Buying at Auction" is something people are always asking us for information about, and whilst the information here is quite basic, it is certainly a place to start if you’re considering buying a property at auction
This focus on helping people has obviously put them in good stead, as they claim over 95% of their clients would use them again AND would recommend them to friends/family. Their testimonials also seem genuine. Rather than the standard "Wow! Thank you so much, you guys are great." just in different formats. Their testimonials go like this:
"Tanya has been an absolute star and we would not have been able to get this purchase complete without her hard work. She replied to any messages promptly and kept me fully updated throughout the whole process. She is a real asset to your company and undoubtedly is the main reason (if not the only!) that our purchase went through. I have said I never want to move again but if I do I will definitely come back to Lambert Pugh and will be recommending them to anyone else I know wanting to move. Thank you."
Which is nice. The standard words are all there, they are just written in an identifiable character that seems ... well, genuine. Even little snippets like this:
"I found Hakim to be polite, sometimes amusing and extremely efficient, I would certainly use him again. Thanks for a smooth transaction"
have the same words as other testimonials, just with a bit more relate-ability. (No, that's not a real word.) Anyway, enough about their site. What do they offer?
Lambertpugh first and foremost do conveyancing. The Residential Conveyancing team is headed up by John 'Pugh'. Whether Sales, Purchases, Transfers of Equity, Remortgages, etc. he and his team apparently have plenty of experience to call on get the job done.
For Commercial Conveyancing, you'll be handled by John 'Lambert' or Ian Taylor. Both are solicitors, and both similarly state years of experience in sales, purchases, leases, etc. For either commercial or residential - you really need to get on the phone to discuss your needs and get a quote. The site says that the quotes are 'free', but really, we've never seen a firm that charges to give you a quote.
They operate out of their Norwich office, but like the majority of conveyancers they can work anywhere in England and Wales. You don't need to visit the office. Conveyancing these days can generally be handled via email, fax, telephone, post, etc. Beyond that, they offer a 'no completion, no fee' guarantee. A slogan taken from the 'no win, no fee' claim people but essentially meaning the same - i.e. that you will not be charged anything if the transaction does not go through.
Lambert pugh are on the panels of all major mortgage lenders as well as being members of the Conveyancing Quality Scheme, sometimes a requirement (depending on the lender). They also state they will give you the direct dial and email details of your dedicated conveyancer for fast and easier contact. Plus, apparently their conveyancers have fully trained assistants to answer questions if your conveyancer is not available.
Moving home is stressful. Buying and selling property is nerve racking. And legal processes are often red taped and confusing. The right firm will make all the difference and from what we've seen, Lambertpugh certainly talks the talk very well.
Finally, they also cover Wills (Single or Joint), Probate, and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA). Their site doesn't say nearly as much about these services as it does for conveyance, so we can't provide you with much insight. However, don't assume that Will writing is a simple process. The fact of the matter is, that we have as many firms on our panel that handle Will arguments - as we do firms that create the things in the first place!
As usual, we checked out the URl variants. As you'll have gathered from our piece, whilst the logo has 'pugh' all in lower case and attached to the 'Lambert' - they are in fact two separate solicitors. So whilst we checked the www.lambertpugh.com version, we also checked the www.lambert-pugh.co.uk and www.lambert-pugh.com versions. All of them returned an error and some had not even been bought yet. Therefore, once you know you're on the correct site, we recommend you bookmark it to avoid problems returning.
General Notes: Usually if Legal Aid is possible we've mentioned it above, but you can always ask. We haven't looked in depth at their recruitment program so are unaware of any job vacancies available. For a career with Lambertpugh LLP Solicitors it's best to visit the website (www.lambertpugh.co.uk), check opening hours, and find the correct phone/email contact details. Simply emailing a CV to reception looks lazy. Each law firm's Law Society and/or SRA number should be on their site, usually at the bottom of each page.
