Wolf Law Solicitors Ltd in Wirral: Review
The majority of companies in any industry pay a content writer to fill their website pages. Sometimes the brief is to generate informative articles to educate consumers on a specific product or service. But alot of the time doesn't it just seem to be paragraph after paragraph of sales pitches?
If you've already been through a dozen law firm websites today you'll have seen a wide range of claims such as being 'award winning' (without any reference to what award) or 'leading' which despite sounding good is a word with no real fixed meaning. All firms can call themselves 'leading' in one thing or another. Wolf Law don't make any such claims which is a good sign to start off with.
They do use some marketing buzzwords but not excessively. Such as this cutting above from their website. It sounds great, but if you think about it there won't be a single firm that claims to be 'nonsense spouting', 'dishonest', or 'uncaring'. So the information doesn't actually help you separate this firm from the thousands of others you could use.
Luckily for the English and Welsh, the national Law Society has an amazing website full of userside data to help you verify a firm's claims about 'experts' and 'specialists'. It's a good place to get independent background about a legal service provider. For example the page for this firm displays the usual contact details but also what languages are spoken, what areas of law they focus on, and the qualifying dates of any solicitors at the firm. So when you see a firm claim to have experienced staff or specialists - you can actually check and compare.
Wolf Law show a mix of abilities with solicitor Nadeem Akhtar qualifying as such in 1999 and Lyndsy Sword joining the profession in 2019. Fresh eyes in wise heads? Either way such checks can be a useful metric when deciding which firm to you use. Unfortunately Scottish and Irish consumers don't have a similar facility to rely upon so count yourselves lucky.
Just as a point of clarification, 'no win no fee' and '100% compensation' are not the same thing. All personal injury firms should not charge you a penny up front or if your case loses. That's the 'no win no fee'. However such agreements may require a fee if the case wins. This is usually as a percentage of any compensation recovered.
We don't recommend using this as a deciding factor on its own though. If one firm says they will charge a 'success fee' of 25% while another says they will give you 100% of the compensation - there will be a temptation to go with the latter on that basis alone. However, if the second firm only gets you half the compensation the first would have obtained - you'll have lost out. So the merits of the firm as a whole should be taken into consideration. (If that makes sense?)
Little things like this are always a good indication of good customer service. We've seen some firms with full staff profiles on every solicitor with direct contact details for each. But has that translated over into positive experiences by clients for WolfLaw? The most common way to check that out tends to be the independent review boards such as Google, Trustpilot, Facebook, etc.
"Always available with advice and to answer any questions"
"responsive, supportive, positive"
"very professional and made me feel at ease"
Those are some snippets from the public comment forums and as you can see they are very positive with a noticeable theme regarding 'supportiveness'. Always take care when viewing reviews of law firms though and read the actual comments. That's because many legal practices handle conveyancing/property matters which are always frustrating and take too long. We've seen many firms with negative reviews from buyers telling them to 'hurry up' their selling client. That seems very unfair to us.
That brings up the point to always be extra careful if you are dealing with a property matter. So many people have handed their entire house deposit over to fraudsters. Sometimes just because an official-looking email came through saying to quickly change the bank details the deposit goes into. We have no idea why someone wouldn't call the law firm to check, but that's what happens.
On navigation please note the official site is www.wolflaw.co.uk with www.wolflaw.com being for different US-based lawyers. The site is https secure for submitting your personal details via the contact form. If you are looking up the firm on Google such as for reviews, you may have to enter the town name as well to get those details to show up - e.g. 'wolf law solicitors wirral'. We have seen some sites peg the firm in Birkenhead, Hoylake, Prenton, and Oxton. It's the same firm as far as we can tell.
General Notes: Usually if Legal Aid is possible we've mentioned it above, but you can always ask. We haven't looked in depth at their recruitment program so are unaware of any job vacancies available. For a career with Wolf Law Solicitors it's best to visit the website (www.wolflaw.co.uk), check opening hours, and find the correct phone/email contact details. Simply emailing a CV to reception looks lazy. Each law firm's Law Society and/or SRA number should be on their site, usually at the bottom of each page.
