The Injury Solicitor Ltd - Road Accident Claims in Salford, Manchester: Review

If you've used our legal help search service before or read any of our articles on law firms, you'll know we like to detail a range of firms. This includes leaders in their field and companies that could simply be considered 'less ordinary'. We always ensure there are a good dollop of main-stream, high-street solicitors to choose from. But we also add firms that are large, small, niche, general practice, or just an alternative resource such as Direct Access barristers or Mediation Providers.

Immediate reaction to The Injury Solicitor may be that it looks like any other personal injury firm. But several things stood out to us which we thought we would share.

"The Injury Solicitor is a niche law firm specialising in recovering compensation for our clients who have been involved in a Road Traffic Accident"

The Injury Solicitor Ltd

Sadly, many people still can't tell the difference between an actual law firm and a website set up to take people's case details and sell them on to law firms. (Generally known as 'resellers'.) Those firms that cold-call you asking about an accident you've never had also have websites trying to get the same information from you.

The Injury Solicitor is a genuine law firm with a qualified solicitor. If you're ever in doubt, the various Law Society databases are a great resource. If you check the page for a firm you'll be presented with contact details, addresses, alternate trading names, and links to check the individual details of staff at the office. Whilst it's not mandatory for a law firm or lawyer to register with their local Law Society. Most are and new firms know it can give peace of mind to prospective clients.

The Law Society of England & Wales have the most informative and useful user-side display we've seen though. Unfortunately if you're researching a legal practice in an other country such as Scotland or Northern Ireland - the information is not nearly as abundant.

"With almost 10 years' of experience in personal injury law, we understand that no two cases are the same."

The firm's local newspaper, Salford Now, ran a story on the company's start up in 2020. But the start date of any law firm is not the same as having experience. These days solicitors move around law practices and even start up their own much more than just a few decades ago. As mentioned in the news article, the main solicitor Elena Manukyan:

"trained, qualified and became one of the youngest partners at previous personal injury firm"

Ten years may not sound like a lot when confronted by law firms stating establishment dates back in the 1800s. But such ancient founding claims are really just marketing ploys. There is no 200-year-old solicitor sat behind a desk imparting wisdom to the rest of the staff. You can end up with a a 1-year-experienced solicitor from a 200-year-old firm, or a 40-year-experienced veteran solicitor from a 1-year-old law office. The branding is not nearly as important as the actual solicitor assigned to your case.

A few other bits and pieces stand out in The Injury Solicitor's offering. Such as:

"We use the latest technology to ensure that you are able to track the progress of your claim 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."

As well as details of their charitable aims including planting a tree for every case and donating part of their profits to charity. We should briefly discuss this statement more generally though:

"All claims are handled on a No Win No Fee basis"

Whilst the majority of law firms say this, there seems to be some confusion about what it actually means. No win, no fee and 100% compensation are two very different promises. They do not mean the same thing. No win, no fee just means that if you lose there will be no fees. But if you win, there may be. 100% compensation guaranteed, on the other hand, promises no part of you compensation will be taken.

So whilst some firms promise no win, no fee they may take a cut of your compensation at the end of a case. This is quite justifiable in some circumstances such as for difficult cases including medical negligence, uninsured drivers, criminal injury claims and so on. But these differences should definitely be explained clearly by the firm you are thinking of going with.

A quick note on navigation too as the firm uses generic terms for the website address which we've know to possible cause some problems where people mix up 'injury' with 'injuries' and 'solicitor' with 'lawyer'. The official site we link to above is www.theinjurysolicitor.com and currently neither www.theinjurysolicitor.co.uk or www.injurysolicitor.com have competing websites on them. However there is a firm using www.injurysolicitor.co.uk - so just keep aware when typing.

It's probably a good idea to bookmark the correct site if you might be coming back to it. Whilst the majority of legal scams at the moment involve property matters with fraudsters managing (somehow) to convince people to transfer their house deposits to a completely different bank account - you never know what they'll think of next. So don't discuss bank details or payments via email, and if someone phones you up saying they are from the firm you are using feel free to hang up and call back on the official number you know already works. A last word from The Injury Solicitor site:

"we aim to keep the process as simple and straightforward as possible and promise to keep you updated at every stage of your claim"

General Notes: Usually if Legal Aid is possible we've mentioned it above, but you can always ask. We haven't looked in depth at their recruitment program so are unaware of any job vacancies available. For a career with The Injury Solicitor Ltd it's best to visit the website (www.theinjurysolicitor.com), check opening hours, and find the correct phone/email contact details. Simply emailing a CV to reception looks lazy. Each law firm's Law Society and/or SRA number should be on their site, usually at the bottom of each page.
