Frei Solicitors Ltd - Luxury Asset Law Firm in London: Review
As you may have noticed if you've flicked through the law firm listings pages of this site, we are not a directory listing every legal practice under the sun across the UK. We try to find a range of professionals in various sections of law. For any given area we might displays results for a general high street solicitor next to a direct access barrister or a specialist non-solicitor solution.
We also include specialist firms where we can for every area of law. This can be an entire firm that specialises in a certain case type, or a wider practice that has specialists for a few different case types on their staff. So which is Frei Solicitors? Well, none of those actually. Founded by Hakan Doganci, this is a one-off firm on our network.
We have a few dozen firms in our lists that can handle 'high value' clients for things such as wills and divorce advice. But the thing about high net worth individuals is that they usually have a range of assets all worth more than a regular person's (like everyone working at 1to1Legal) main and often only investment - their house. The amount of legal work required to buy, sell and just own a house is huge. It's time consuming and costly.
Not everyone with lots of valuable assets likes to burn money, despite how fashionable doing so seems to have become in this age of young youtubers getting rich and famous quick. (A thing we assume they learned from the rise of Kardashian-style role-models before them.) So while a specialist firm to help people with the 'problem' of massive wealth might sound odd to most - it will be welcome news to those who have built their wealth on being careful and who probably want it to still be there for their loved ones after they are gone.
However this means the regular tips and rules which we advise people such as looking up the details on the Law Society of England & Wales website, or checking experience dates, or watching out for strange wording on the firm in question's website - all goes out the window. The majority of clients that would use such a service will want recommendations. The company provides quite a few on their testimonials page:
"done a fantastic job at alleviating the great anxiety I have been experiencing"
"prompt and efficient administration of our estate"
but not everyone accepts company provided reviews from prior clients. This is where being a niche firm can sometimes cause an issue. Because when you target a very small market of individuals with your services, getting feedback publicly can take a lot longer. So while a nationwide conveyancing firm might have 300+ reviews on an independent review forum such as Google, Trustpilot, or Facebook - a specialist divorce lawyer might have only a handful or even none.
"very happy with the company providing a tailored service for my company"
"simplified the entire process for my matter"
Those are some snippets about Frei Solicitors from the public boards. While they are all clearly positive, they are also very few in number. This brings us to today's tip which is not to judge a law firm by the number of reviews. We know of long established veteran law firms with zero reviews on Google and 1-year startup legal practices with a few dozen comments. People are simply not as quick to rush online and discuss how their criminal arrest, messy divorce, life changing injury, or child custody matter went compared to, for example, the pizza they just ordered. So a lack of reviews is not a negative sign when it comes to companies that deal in legal matters.
A quick note on navigation. The firm's offical website follows the branding name www.freisolicitors.com, just watch the spelling or maybe bookmark the site if coming back later? The site is HTTPS secure for submitting queries through the contact form. Just always watch out and be careful online as there are always scammers looking to part people from their money.
General Notes: Usually if Legal Aid is possible we've mentioned it above, but you can always ask. We haven't looked in depth at their recruitment program so are unaware of any job vacancies available. For a career with Frei Solicitors it's best to visit the website (www.freisolicitors.com), check opening hours, and find the correct phone/email contact details. Simply emailing a CV to reception looks lazy. Each law firm's Law Society and/or SRA number should be on their site, usually at the bottom of each page.
