Not sure whether you need a legal professional? Most law firms will offer at least a free phone call to discuss your needs and you should be offered impartial advice as to whether hiring a law firm is required. Always ask to speak to a qualified individual though before relaying the more in-depth details of the case. Don't be afraid to ring round and ask several firms about free consultations to try and get a better idea before deciding how to proceed or who with.
The Supreme Court began work in 2009, and serves as the highest court of appeal for all cases in England and Wales and in Northern Ireland, but only for civil cases in Scotland. These are often described as "tribunals" rather than courts, but the difference in name is meaningless. The County Commissioners in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts manage the county government, including funding civil and criminal courts, jails and Sheriffs departments overseeing said jails, as well as recording deeds, maintaining county roads and the like.
This contrasts with the right to advice from the duty solicitor whilst at the police station, which applies irrespective of what the alleged offence may be, and will last for the duration of any investigation. Disciplinary mechanisms have been astonishingly ineffective, and penalties have been light or nonexistent. One features the words "The Supreme Court" and the letter omega in black (in the official badge granted by the College of Arms, the interior of the Latin and Greek letters are gold and white, respectively), and displays a simplified version of the crown (also in black) and larger, stylised versions of the floral emblems; this modified version of the badge is featured on the new Supreme Court website, as well as in the forms that will be used by the Supreme Court.
The Lord Advocate is assisted by the Solicitor General for Scotland, currently Alison Di Rollo. When sitting as family proceedings courts the magistrates' courts hear proceedings brought under the Children (Northern Ireland) Order 1995. However, the boundary between barristers and solicitors has evolved. On successful completion of the training contract, the trainee will qualify and be admitted as a solicitor. Until 2005, the head of the QBD was the Lord Chief Justice. In England today, the barrister monopoly covers only appellate courts, and barristers must compete directly with solicitors in many trial courts. Therefore, even conveyancer and corporate in-house counsel must first get a license to practice, though they may actually spend very little of their careers in court.
