Trust Inheritance Ltd Wills, Probate & Estate Planning in Weston-Super-Mare: Review
We've talked a lot before about specialists versus general practice firms. For many case types people absolutely want a niche firm such as for Motor Offences, Immigration or Debt Recovery. The most common reason is the expectation of more expertise, more experience, and therefore a knock on effect of less time and cost required.
With Wills & Probate though, this idea of specialism goes an extra step further. Rather than simply only doing the one case types, specialists in Estate matters will often cover a much wider range of issues and provide a much wider range of services. For example, a firm that states they handle "Will & Probate" matters may simply help people create a Will. "Estate Planning" firms on the other hand do much more.
That snippet from the Trust Inheritance website may sound like most other law firms. Unfortunately the temptation to utilise marketing language on any company's site always seems to be too much for them to pass up. Words like 'modern', 'fresh', and 'friendly' appear practically everywhere making them meaningless as a result.
So why might you pick a niche firm like Trust Inheritance Ltd over your local high street firm that covers estate matters as well? If you want to get more solid figures about the actual experience of solicitors within any law firm, you can usually get it from their local law society. If you check out the page about this firm on The Law Society of England & Wales' website, you'll be provided with a wide range of data including alternative trading names, staff details, contact details, case focus, and more importantly - qualification dates of each solicitor. The Law Society of England & Wales is actually one of the best we've seen for this sort of user-focused data provision. On this occasion it shows there is good mix of seasoned expertise along with fresh blood. For example Gillian Grinyer having qualified in 1980, Ekta Porter qualifying in 2010, right up to incredibly newbie Abraam Azir qualifying in 2021.
Experience and expertise don't automatically make a good lawyer. They can certainly help. But after checking up on the credentials of a firm and looking up whether the 'award-winning service' they tout has actually won some real awards (rather than just being stated hoping you won't check). You can turn to the third party review forums.
There are dozens out there, but the most commonly used are Google Reviews, Yelp, Trustpilot and Yell. Be warned though that you really need to read the comments and not just rely on star ratings. The article we wrote just before this one was about a solicitor with 5 star reviews for being an excellent dog-friendly restaurant. Clearly some mix up with company names in the area. Trust Inheritance does have some testimonials on their site:
"spoke to me with such care and kindness"
"manner was very professional and empathetic"
But as people really want to read about the possible negatives about a firm to see if there is a common thread to watch out for - most people put a lot more faith in the independent review boards.
"Does what it says on the tin"
"I have found to be excellent value for money."
On the whole they are positive too. Another thing that should be mentioned though is the level of alternate and individual services Trust Inheritance Ltd provide from their site. There is a whole section offering various products to tailor towards what you might need if you're looking to handle the matter by yourself as much as possible. They also offer a fully online service called a DIY Probate Toolkit at a fraction of the cost of the managed service.
Obviously we sound very pro-this-company and this could come across as bias. However we hope the information and links provided above at least show why we were more than happy to add Trust Inheritance to our database of recommended firms. We don't just add anyone. We do ou checks just as much as you should before moving forward with a company.
A quick note on navigation as the firm uses two quite generic words in the branding - i.e. 'trust' and 'inheritance'. Certainly when we tried various search phrases several related companies showed up in the results including Inheritance Legal Services Ltd, Guardian Inheritance Ltd, The Inheritance Experts, and dozens of law firms using those words in the title of their Wills/Probate section. It's important to make sure you're looking at the correct information when researching them, and probably a good idea to bookmark the correct site if you plan on coming back to it.
The official site we link to above is https secure for entering your details in contact forms and is located at www.trustinheritance.com, with www.trustinheritance.co.uk redirecting you there just fine. Related domains such as www.trustinheritanceltd.com or the .co.uk do not currently exist. But even with the potential search issues and other opportunities for scammers to fake official appearances - it's not too much of a concern because the majority of fraudsters are currently targeting law firms that deal with property matters. A last word from the firm's website:
General Notes: Usually if Legal Aid is possible we've mentioned it above, but you can always ask. We haven't looked in depth at their recruitment program so are unaware of any job vacancies available. For a career with Trust Inheritance Ltd it's best to visit the website (www.trustinheritance.com), check opening hours, and find the correct phone/email contact details. Simply emailing a CV to reception looks lazy. Each law firm's Law Society and/or SRA number should be on their site, usually at the bottom of each page.
