Buying Reviews for Law Firms? Bad Idea...
If you're wondering why your law firm might not be getting online reviews despite providing your best service - it may be more about the client themselves than the service you provided. There are plenty of firms selling reviews. But before you take that risky leap, maybe you just need some pointers from an expert?
While many people will jump online to praise or criticise the last pizza they ordered, they will be less likely to think of sharing the experience of their messy divorce, criminal trial, or will dispute. This is understandable and some people will never leave a positive comment on that episode of their life no matter how good your service was.
However, there will be a wealth of clients that would be happy to leave a review, they just maybe haven't thought of it yet. But finding the right way to approach clients for such comments can be tricky and have a negative effect if done badly.

At 1to1Legal we have been marketing law firms for over 20+ years. You can see the hundreds of law firms we currently work with across our site with hundreds more working with us on and off over the decades. We refer clients direct to law practices, lawyers, paralegals, solicitors, and barristers. But even with all that experience we do not offer a review service because it is such a delicate area to deal with. That's something you may need expert help to set you up on the right track.
"94% say a review convinced them to avoid a business."
"230% increases in sales can occur when displaying reviews on your website."
"People are 3x more likely to leave a negative review after a bad experience if you don't ask."
Chris Rodgers has 21 years of marketing and business development experience and will manage the whole client review journey including:
1. Find where all your reviews are and track them, good or bad
2. Deal with the bad reviews by getting them removed or trying to resolve them
3. Decide which platforms are best for your business to target
4. Develop a long term strategy including automating review requests
5. Answer every single review with the human touch
6. Advise on how best to integrate such reviews into your marketing
We have seen some companies clearly purchase reviews from review sellers. Dozens of 5 star ratings with generic comments such as 'would use again' or 'highly recommended'. When it comes to legal services though, we know people are keen to read the actual comments to get a feel for the firm. They are looking for key positive phrases such as 'kept me in the loop' or 'had direct access to my solicitor'. They are also looking for negative themes such as 'never answer the phone' or 'fees were not explained clearly'. Therefore people are far more likely to spot bought reviews and discount them when it comes to lawyer client feedback. It will be the genuine, positive customer commentary that will provide any boost you expect from making the effort.
