There will be no law firm on the internet claiming they have zero experience. But luckily if you are in England or Wales you are able to check these claims independently. The Law Society of England & Wales has an excellent user side database for people to research legal service providers. For any firm you can look up alternative trading names, contact details for all offices, areas of law covered, and details about the staff. This includes whether they are qualified solicitors.
Unfortunately, Scotland's law society is nowhere near providing such useful information to its residents. With our own firm being based in Scotland, that's a difficult thing for us to admit. Hopefully they will get their butts in gear and catch up to the English/Welsh version soon.
This statement on any website may actually be more important than you think. There are thousands of websites targeting potential law firm clients to try and get them to hand over their case details. These details are then sold on to law firms, rather than actually going directly through to a solicitor yourself. But it can result in having to wait for callbacks as the paralegal goes between you and the solicitor in charge. The majority of reviews were positive. There were several negative comments left but they were difficult to get a grip on. Some were complaining about third parties related to the case, while others simply left a negative star rating with no explanation. We have seen law firms with 5 star ratings for their pizza and negative ratings for a divorce firm refusing to take on an injury case. So we always recommend reading through comments when looking up a firm rather than simply flicking through star ratings.
A note on navigation as there are variations to bear in mind. The official main site is www.bakerhardman.co.uk but the .com version does not redirect you there. There is a separate website for the Scottish branch at www.scotlandinjurysolicitors.co.uk which uses the branding of Scotland Injury Solicitors as well. Their office is in Glasgow but if you enter a phrase such as "baker hardman solicitors in glasgow" Google currently returns results for a firm called Bradley Baker Solicitors. This is an older name so you may wish to bookmark the site you want to return to just in case.
Both of the firms official sites are HTTPS secure for submitting your details in their contact form. Just always try to keep aware of which site you are on and who you are emailing back and forth with. As most fraud related to legal services happens via email. Some have handed thousands of pounds over to scammers sometimes based on a single email. So keep aware.
